Master alloy is the cast stock a foundry remelts into finished castings. We supply it as vacuum induction melted bar and ingot, with the chemistry reported against the heat and the specification stated in writing.

A master alloy is the cast stock a foundry buys in order to melt it down and pour it into finished parts. It is deliberately produced as a compact, fully characterised ingot or bar, so that the buyer's own vacuum furnace can bring it to the composition it needs without a long adjustment period. We supply the metal and the documentation; the melt and the pour stay with you.
Every heat is vacuum induction melted and reported against the grade specification, so the remelt starts from a known analysis rather than from variable stock.
Bar for vacuum induction melting, ingot or button for the crucible of your machine. Bar is cut to the length you state.
The mill test report gives the actual heat analysis, the heat number and the melt route, so the castings stay traceable to the metal they came from.
Master alloy is supplied in the as-cast condition. The supply form and the specification are agreed on the order, together with the diameter, the length and the packaging your melting operation requires.
Grades are supplied against the national and military specifications for casting master alloy, or against your own purchase specification where that is tighter. The applicable standard is stated on the order and on the report.
Mill test report with every order, issued against the actual heat analysis of the melt.
Heat number traceability from the master alloy through your remelt into the finished casting.
Dimensional, chemical and NDT verification to the specification agreed on the order.
Send the grade, the supply form, the diameter or the ingot weight, the quantity and the standard you work to. You receive a specification check, a price and a lead time.
